Dollar General coupons

Updated Nov 8, 2026. Policy details checked against Dollar General's own pages on Nov 7, 2026.

Dollar General takes three kinds of coupons: DG digital coupons, manufacturer coupons (paper or valid print-at-home) and Dollar General store coupons. You can use at most two coupons on one item, and only if one is a manufacturer coupon and the other is a Dollar General coupon.

Dollar General digital coupons

DG digital coupons live in your myDG wallet in the Dollar General app or on dollargeneral.com. You clip a coupon, then enter your phone number at the register, and the savings come off at checkout. Joining myDG costs nothing. The full how-to is in Dollar General digital coupons.

Dollar General $5 off $25 coupon

The $5 off $25 offer is a DG digital coupon that takes $5 off a purchase of $25 or more before tax. The $25 counts after all other discounts, and the coupon we checked was limited to one per person. Rules, exclusions and fixes for a coupon that won’t apply are in Dollar General $5 off $25.

Paper and printable coupons at Dollar General

Dollar General accepts paper manufacturer coupons and valid print-at-home coupons. A coupon must:

  • Be original. Dollar General does not accept photocopies, screenshots or pictures of coupons.
  • Have a scannable barcode or a valid Dollar General promotion code.
  • Show a valid expiration date. Expired coupons are not accepted.
  • Match the exact item, including size and weight, unless the coupon says otherwise.

Coupons from other retailers are not accepted, and manufacturer coupons need a “remit to” address.

Dollar General coupon limits

  • Up to 5 identical coupons per household per day, if the coupon has no limit of its own.
  • No more than two coupons per item: one manufacturer coupon plus one Dollar General coupon.
  • Dollar General does not double or multiply coupon values.
  • If a coupon is worth more than the item, the extra comes off the rest of your order. You never get cash back.
  • One Dollar General digital coupon account per person.

The complete rule list, quoted from Dollar General’s own page, is in Dollar General coupon policy.

Can you stack coupons at Dollar General?

Yes, within limits. Most DG digital coupons are manufacturer coupons, so they cannot go on the same item as a paper manufacturer coupon. A digital coupon labeled “DG Store Coupon” counts as a Dollar General coupon and can be paired with one manufacturer coupon. Dollar General’s policy says: “Unless labeled a DG Store Coupon in the Digital Coupon Gallery, DG Digital Coupons are Manufacturer Coupons.”

For a step-by-step way to combine the weekly ad, digital coupons and $5 off $25, see Dollar General couponing.
